Cheerful photos

These are photos I took yesterday before Oogie died.  I did not have the heart to blog last evening but thought I would post them now.  At least I can remember it was a nice day before he died.

Here are the dogs sacked out (guarding hard!) in the flowers and sunshine:

Here are the ewes (and two goats) after the boluses (the boluses went down fine and I had nothing to worry about):

Here’s a rooster striking a pose in the backlighting:

And finally Magpie’s kids proving that kids like to sleep in tires:

The boluses went down so easily yesterday I had time to finish skirting the fleeces!  I will post the photos on my web pages of http://www.schoonoverfarm.com/Fiber http://www.schoonoverfarm.com/MoreFiber http://www.schoonoverfarm.com/EvenMoreFiber and http://www.schoonoverfarm.com/YetMoreFiber

  1. Sorry for your loss. I know words can never make us understand the turns nature and life take. I lost a colt 2 years ago and still to this day I get sick to my stomach when I walk in the barn where I found him. We try are hardest to do our best and that is all we can do. Every season has a reason.

  2. Thanks- I know they all can’t live but man it’s hard sometimes.

Sorry to hear about Oogie. He was such a cutie. The others are adorable and look to be doing great. Happy Day Donna:)

  4. You are right Krista. Now I will have more time and energy to enjoy the healthy goat kids we have.

I am so sorry to hear about Oogie. Maybe there is a reason for such a beautiful day as he left the world. It is a reminder that we must endure the sadness to truly be grateful for the beauty around us.

  6. Thanks Teresa.

I am so sorry for the pain that you must be feeling. He was such an adorable little guy and you did your very best to help him. He is at peace now. May you find joy with the others entrusted to your care…

    • Thanks Nancy, and you are right, no more pain, no more injections. I am trying to enjoy the other kids and am anxiously awaiting lambs, bunnies and more kids. The pain should get better with this.
