Miss Lizzie finally had her lambs. When I went to check on her, she started pushing really hard. She did not stop to take a break and kept going, and all I could see were the tips of feet. So I decided to check to see what was up, and the largest head of any sheep I have delivered was evident. It was a very tight fit, but I was able to get my hand around his head and pull him out. Above’s Sergeant Pepper just born. Then his sister delivered easily. Here’s Abbey Road:
They are both doing well, cleaned up and nurse. Lizzie is bleeding a little but not bad, especially considering. Look at the size of this newborn lamb!

That is a big lamb! Good thing she had all that milk ready and waiting-
So I am not crazy thinking he’s a big boy. Her udder size is reducing quickly to, which I am sure she appreciates. I am sure delivering him hurt, maybe that is why she was waiting.
Looks half grown! ha.. The first lamb delivered this year here was similar. A huge single ram lamb with an enormous head and horn buds. I ended up just helping by pulling during contractions and she had him okay, but it was slow going up to that point. Pretty lambs and I’m glad you were able to help her out.

He is half grown, literally he is half the height of his mother! I am especially surprised since he’s a twin. It sounds like you had a similar experience.
Youch!! That’s a big baby. Good thing you were around to lend a hand. We had a baby born today, hopefully the other 3 will fall close behind and I can get some sleep and not make as many typing errors.LOL
I am not sure I was needed but probably helped her finish birthing him quicker. Hopefully we will both be sleeping soon. I always have typing errors though. Thankfully there’s spell check!

Thanks Terri and welcome back. I had to switch my blog site 6 months ago but am happy here. And the links I have collected over 10 years. The names are very pop culture but are mostly to remind me of who the mothers are, for my middle aged brain.
