Our oldest cat Max died today. We called him our “Mountain Cat” because he was found as a feral kitten living on a mountain. He was 17 years old. He was tougher than nails. After he moved homes once he went to live in the woods out back of the place, and we did not see him for six months. And then he just decided to come home like nothing ever happened. He would always stand up in fight whether it be dog or cat. Here he is confronting our beagle.
He usually did not like the other cats, but here is photo evidence of him sleeping with Doogie.
He seemed to like it when we moved to the farm. He had room to roam and go inside and outside as he pleased. He has been a fixture in our lives and will be sorely missed.
Sorry to read this…it’s amazing how all our animal friends become part of the family. He looks just like our feral cat!
Thanks Jan! He was part of the family, and it is not the same tonight without him.
RIP Max! It seems as if it was a life well lived…
Thanks Nancy! Max lived a great cat life.
I’m sorry for the loss of your beautiful free spirit, Max.
Thanks Mary Ann. He was a beautiful free spirit. And I am sorry for the loss of your Ginger as well.

Thanks Crazy Sheep Lady
Sorry to hear about Max. Sending hugs 🙂
Thanks Jody. He has been ill since around Christmas so we knew it was coming but still hard.
So sorry to hear of Max’s passing. He sounds like he was a real character and lived his life to the ‘max’. It’s always so hard to lose them, because as small as they are they live an awful big space. Take care,
Tammy
Thanks Tammy! He was a real character and lived his life to the fullest on his own terms. It is not the same without him.
So sorry to hear about Max. He sounds like he was a really cool guy. Rest In peace, Mountain Cat.
Thanks Denise! He was a really cool cat.
Sorry to hear about Max. 17 years is a good, long time for a cat to live. I can understand why it would not seem the same without him. hang in there.
Jackie
Thanks Jackie. I still keep opening the door and expecting him to come running in. It is sad.
