Black Sheep Gathering Day 3

Now it is time to pack up and head home with my loot.

I bought natural color silk, carbonized bamboo and flax to spin as well as a new spinning wheel orifice hook and a locker hooking kit.
We packed up in the rain optimistically wearing shorts and are heading north, knitting all the way.

This is the Shetland lace shawl ( pattern from Liz Lovick) that I am still working on from a Shetland lamb fleece I bought at BSG several years ago. It was from a lamb named Miracle from Tom Livernois so I hope I can finally finish and do this wonderful fleece justice.

Home sweet home!

Unfortunately when we got home we found that the animals had gotten out and eaten the tomatoes, blueberries and crabapple trees.

carbonized bamboo. interesting. I haven’t ever heard of that. you’ll have to let us know how it spins up! Looks like you had a good time at BSG– didn’t buy any fleeces, though?

A few of the vendors had it. Must be all the rage. I told myself not to buy any wool as I have many bags full. So I managed to find fiber to buy I do not already have. It was a fun but wet time.

Hi Donna: Super excited to see your shawl! It looks beautiful and has has that glow. 🙂 I’m sure Miracle would be pleased. I hope to see it someday at BSG.
