I am in a shock so do not have a good story to tell right now. But she was a great lady, a great wife, mother and grandmother. She was one of the early female pharmacists in this state and made me feel like women could do anything they wanted. She also told stories about growing up on the farm that likely inspired me as a child to want to do the same. She threw great dinner parties. She deserves a better life summary than this, but this is all I can muster right now. I will miss her.

My grandmother was the most important person in my life. My daughter got to know and love her too. We lost my grandmother the year my daughter turned 18.)
My gramma was important and a great role model. She did not know her grandparents but figured out the role well on her first grandchild (me!),

I am so sorry Donna. Sending hugs as I know your heart is hurting. Even from the little you said I can see what a wonderful person she was. My grandmother graduated from the U of W when only very few woman went to college. I know how influencing they are to who we are today. She is who makes me strive to be the best grandmother I can to my own grandchildren.
I am so very sorry Donna. There are no words to help make any sense of losing someone so dear and so central to one’s life. For me, the challenge has been to truly accept that my grandparents (and now my parents too) are no longer in the world. But we can talk to them; your grandmother is surely there listening.
