Sick Sunny

So I got home this morning from a shift at my “day job” and Sunny, our beagle, was nowhere to be found.  I looked high and low for her.  I was especially worried because Thursday she had started getting ill with mild diarrhea and not wanting to eat.  She was drinking and peeing OK but less active than usual.  Friday she was the same but by the evening she started eating.  Saturday morning when I went to work, she did not want to eat again.

Finally she came out of her hiding spot but was thin, dehydrated and breathing fast.  I scooped her up and brought her to the emergency vet clinic.  There she received fluids, antibiotic, and anti-nausea medicine as she was vomiting there.  I got her home and put her on the porch.  She is drinking but no interest in eating.  I hope she gets better soon.

I hope Sunny starts feeling better soon. It’s hard to see them feeling blah. Ruger sends his good doggy healing vibes. Radiographs?

Hope Sunny is on the mend. Have you tried pepto? I’ve found it sometimes helps-

I hope Sunny is feeling better, Donna. Did they check for pancreatitis? I have a couple of garbage hounds too, and my old guy goes off his feed every six months or so, acting sick and sorry for himself. I panic nearly every time, worried about pancreatitis (my vet humors me).

They did not check for pancreatitis. They checked the first time she had this and it wasn’t. This is her third time. I almost brought her back to the emergency vet tonight for blood tests and IVF but then Tom got her to eat. Hopefully she is on the mend.
