We brought Steve home today from the Skagit Humane Society. He is about 3 years old and a lab mix. He was brought up from California but had not been adopted for 1.5 months here except for a brief failed one.
He is an active and friendly dog. He and Rocky got along great, and he was very respectful of our old dog.
So now he is really happy, running around our property. The sheep and goats noticed him right away, but Steve did not seem to care.
He sniffed the donkeys but got a little scared when they started braying.
So we have a new dog and are thrilled.
that’s awesome. Rocky needed a pal. Welcome Steve!
Rocky does need a pal. He is so much happier just in the short about of time we have had Steve.
This makes me SO happy!! Welcome Steve! (Lucky puppy! ) And congratulations, Donna and Tom, it looks like you picked a winner!
Maureen
Thanks Maureen- We did!
What a lucky dog!
I think he will like it here. So far he loves running free on his 2 fenced acres.
Wonderful all the way around!
Thanks Michelle! It feels good to give a home to a dog that really needs it and to fill our void for a large friendly dog companion.
That looks like a really positive situation!! I’m happy for you! I adopted a darling little Lhasa Apso from the local humane society the end of August, but she couldn’t get along with our adult daughter’s Shih Tzu – a service dog. So after trying to work with her for two months, I found another home for her with friends not too far away. She’s happy there as an only dog, and they love her. It broke my heart, but I’m surviving.
Thanks Jeanne. It should work out. He is an active dog and we are learning what he likes. I am sorry about your Lhasa Apso. It is so hard to lose a dog no matter what the reason.
