Today I took down the tree while the Huskies appear to be blowing the Rose Bowl. At halftime we took it outside, cut it into two pieces and tossed it into the barnyard.
The bottom portion went into the sheep pasture. Here are some sheep starting to eat it. The rest are nervous with the sudden disruption to the usual routine.
The top portion went into the goats’ area. Only two goats ventured out of the relatively warmer barn to chew on it.
I expect all green on it will be gone tomorrow. It was a good Christmas tree.
It seems odd to me, that the sheep and goats would enjoy eating the strong smelling tree. I know that Teresa does this with her goats.
They do love it. I think they appreciate something relatively fresh in the middle of winter.
