Our View

from our dining room window is drastically changed.

Here is a closer look.

In the past we would watch the seasons go by as we ate meals in our dining room. We would watch our neighbor plow and sow in the spring. We would watch the crops grow and then be harvested in the summer. We would watch a lake form in the fall and the waterfowl move in. We would watch the snow in the winter.

Now for the rest of our lives we get to stare at an ugly shiny guardrail that the county was compelled to put up to protect PSE’s new power poles. I am mad.

When the neighbors built their house to our east, I felt the same way. Now I hardly notice it even though visitors commonly say something like “Too bad that house ruins your view.” I predict your brain will soon overlook the guardrail and you’ll go back to enjoying your view.

I can sympathize with you… I don’t like change in my views either. As Michelle says, you’ll probably get more used to it as time goes on. As things grow, it’ll help.

You should see our formerly beautiful highway to the city. We’ve had storms before, but the one that hit so hard, the end of Feb., really ruined the looks of our scenery.

I am sorry about the storms ruining the scenery for you. I am hoping we will get used to it. But it is so shiny and annoying…
