So we headed out to our mountain trailer on Friday, about one hour before the deer decided to leap over our gate.

When we arrived at the Boles we noticed a long wolf print,

and a cougar print.

Tom and his son rode the quads around looking for sheds. I set up my cocktail bar and knitting station. It was really windy out so the front cover of the Boles had to be down.

Steve and Rocky enjoyed the wide open spaces.

On his trip Tom found a wolf track as big as his hand. They saw lots of wildlife (deer, elk, quail, and grouse). Later in the weekend they found a huge wolf (twice the size of Steve) and a marmot.

It was bitter cold with the wind. In the evening we turned on the party lights and had a nice hamburger dinner.

Saturday the weather continued to be brutal with high winds, cold temperatures and occasional snow. Across the valley there were impressive cloud formations.

Rocky and I hunkered down with a fire, and I knitted. Tom and Thomas drove into town to get a new solar battery as ours had died. There it was blowing dust.

We had a nice pork chop dinner ( but we were not able to BBQ all weekend due to the wind) and slept well.

On Sunday we went to the Old Steel Car Show in Union Gap. The weather was thankfully decent for this.

There we saw my mom and step-dad. It turns out they were in the snowy squalls we had been watching across the valley.

For lunch we headed to my favorite tamale restaurant.

By the time we got back to the Boles it was snowing again and windy. It is hard to see the snowflakes in the photo though.

Then I proceeded to cook an epic medieval meal described in my other blog.

And today we packed up and are heading home.

And despite the weather we all had a good time.
