This is a farm to do list I created on September 28, 2008. I found it the other day at the bottom of my filing cabinet drawer.
Here is my current list. It is not that we have less to do. It is just that certain things are now understood to need to be done but do not need to be written down.
It is nice though that we have truly accomplished some things in the last 11 years like replacing the kitchen and bathroom floors, new shower wall, new kitchen counter tops, get Hoosier cabinet, build greenhouse, fix hot tub, build new barn (the hay loft), and build pig enclosure and shelter. But some items will never be completely accomplished like clean windows, reorganize garage, pick and press apples, clean out ditches, repair cross fencing, replace broken posts, prune fruit trees, cut blackberries back, cut and stack firewood, dump run, fix trailer, clean out pens, fix gates and fix garden cart. And that is somewhat discouraging, but I guess that is what farming is all about. Always having a to do list that never ends.
That’s some list! I really admire farm families, for their perseverance and gumption! The work never ends, does it! Just like laundry, cleaning house, etc.!
You do a great job! Tom does too!
Thanks Jeanne. It is mostly Tom plus my brother Greg did the kitchen and bathroom work.
Donna, you DO realize that if you accomplish EVERYthing on your list, then you die, right? 😉😊😁🤣
That is what I figured. So does this mean I will never die?
I think so, but I haven’t tested my theory yet. 😂
Donna and Michelle!! You’re both too funny! I read that exchange to my daughter and we both had a good laugh!
Now we have to get ready to go to Yarn Club!
Have a good day!
Well, maybe it will work. Start a never ending list too!
I’m just not too sure…….
