Tom’s Uncle died today.
He was quite the character. When I met Tom, I was warned about him, but he was actually pretty nice to me. But here is the photo of him at our wedding reception.
Yes, he is flipping the bird. He was opinionated, but he came to every gathering and clearly loved his family. One of my fondest memories of him was going to the Meridian auction and watch him buy a garbage truck. It was so funny, and he had no good explanation of what he was going to do with it. We assume he wheeled and dealed it.
Here is a photo of him getting a pink purse as a present last Christmas. That was hilarious.
You will be missed, Uncle Gene.
I’m sorry! It’s tough to lose family that we love.
It is. Although he lived a good long life.
How old was Uncle Gene? I had to chuckle when I read the part about him buying the garbage truck! Wish I could have seen him using it! We didn’t have any characters like him in our family.
All of my uncle’s are long gone. I had some favorites.
He was 84 and had numerous health problems. He was a character, for sure. Nobody on my side of the family is like him.
