Gah! what an a**hole! In the dark, with a flashlight! I suppose the resolution on the video isn’t high enough to get the license plate #?

That is super frustrating. We used to have an honor stand that we sold produce at. For several years, we never had a problem. Then one year we noticed a lot of produce going missing. I have a feeling they will keep coming back unfortunately. It probably has to be somebody who has stopped there before because they seemed like they knew what they were doing. The dog didn’t phase them at all, which meant they knew it couldn’t get out of fence.

That’s so disgusting! Can you recognize the car? Would a camera with higher resolution make a difference? My daughter suggested a sign that says YOU ARE ON VIDEO! THE POLICE WILL BE NOTIFIED!

Tom recognizes the car and she has stolen from us before but we do not know who she is. Our camera has pretty good resolution. It is just the night vision and the reflective nature of the license that is the problem. I suggested the sign but Tom doesn’t want to have one up. Plus we aren’t going to notify the police unless we can recognize who they are. For now we will only have our eggs out in the daytime but we have been stolen then too. With all the hoarding going on (and the hunger quite honestly) this problem is going to get worse. The honor system may not survive this pandemic.

It’s a shame that Tom recognizes the car, but it’s really difficult to recognize her face in the dark. I hope you can come up with an answer. I understand about not wanting the sign. And you’re right, that you can’t involve the police if you can’t identify her. I wasn’t even able to tell that it was a woman!!

Tom says he can tell. I guess I misunderstood him and she hadn’t stolen from us before. But there is a distinctive muffler sounds for this car. We have started locking the stand at night. I feel bad because we had one of our regulars came by on Sunday. They drive up from Seattle just to drive around some weekends and they always stop for our eggs and we didn’t have any. So that was sad.
