Everyone left Friday so Tom, Steve and I hung out.
Tom and Steve burnt a brush pile.
I knit by the fire.
Saturday morning I was knitting with college football on and noticing some Granny Smith apples I had brought up that no one was eating. So I thought about what I could make with them with the ingredients we happened to have. With the help of my phone and this recipe I made apple fritters.
We had them for lunch with our eggs and bacon. They were really good!
Some deer wandered by in the afternoon. We also saw a herd of elk on the next ridge.
I made Tacoma Tortilla soup with a Rills Foods mix and our venison burger while rooting on the Huskies to a win.
Later we watched an old movie on MeTV which was quite entertaining.
All three of us had a nice weekend, and it was good to get away.
I think it sounds like you had a good time. Guys always enjoy burning piles of brush. And gals enjoy knitting and trying new recipes, right? That looks like such a peaceful place.
Have a good week!
Thanks Jeanne! It is a peaceful place.
Those fritters look really yummy. Glad you guys were able to get away for a bit and unwind.
The fritters were a little too good. Not something I would do except on a pandemic Thanksgiving weekend. We were able to unwind so that was really nice.
