I bought tickets for the McMenamins’ Wassail for Tom’s birthday present. It was scheduled for January 15 but was cancelled and rescheduled for this weekend. So this is my account of the trip. Warning: there are lots of photos of unhealthy foods and drinks, but there is also art, history, singing and dancing.

We started out at the Spar Cafe in Olympia. I had a White Ukrainian there.

Then we arrived at The Grand Lodge in Forest Grove. We checked out the art, history and entertainments.

Then we headed to the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse for the Wassail. It started with cider tasting. Then a squall hit, and we headed inside the Inn.

Then we had a distillery tour in the old granary.

Then Falcon Heart performed in the barn.

Then came the Morris Men!

 

 

 

 

Then we proceeded to the orchard for the traditional Wassail toast.

 

Then it was back to the barn for the Jack Maybe Project.  

 

Then we ubered back to The Grand Lodge to relax.  

Lastly we headed home with a stop at McMenamins on the Columbia in Vancouver.  

And finally back home.  My passport is tattered and torn.

But we certainly made some fond memories. I think Tom enjoyed his birthday present finally.
