Being gone just one week in July, everything changes. The Narragansett turkey poult is developing quite a bit.
The white midget turkeys grew.
All of the chicken chicks are much bigger.
And the pigs are larger too.
The garden is going crazy, particularly the beans, corn and squash.
And the flax is closer to needing to be harvested.
Rory is looking more bull-like all of the time.
The peacock’s feathers have lengthened.
And the blueberries are just about to be ripe (so I put the net over them today).
It’s crazy how quickly plants and animals can grow.
P.S. I just finished watching Maid on Netflix and was completely mesmerized by the story. And I am listening to The History Of The Evergreen State podcast and loving it.
Yup! Lots of change! Mr. Peacock is quite magnificent! I can see the difference in the young turkeys, but not the chicken chicks. And there’s a big change in your garden! I didn’t know you have flax on your farm. Do you do something with it?
Thanks Jeanne! I hope you are doing well. Mr. Peacock is magnificent. I have to restrain myself from posting more photos of him every day. It is hard with photos to portray growth without perspective. The chicken chicks are growing my leaps and bounds as well. I have never had any luck with growing flax before, but someone sent me some seeds so I thought I would try it again. Now I have to figure out what to do with it! I hope to be able to process and spin it with my great great grandmother’s Swedish flax wheel..
