So I finally finished spinning, plying, skeining and washing this yarn. It is from my recently deceased Ewegenie as well as Jemima and Bambam, both of which I still have. It is bulkier than I had anticipated as a 3-ply yarn. It ranges from 89 to 119 yards per 3.5 ounces. I have a total of 806 yards.
So I have been searching around Ravelry for an Aran pattern for this yarn. Unfortunately I do not have enough for the hooded cardigan I was wishing for, But I found one cardigan, one headband, 3 hoods, and 4 scarves that would fit the bill. I am still leaning toward the Woodland Hoodlet. It has the cabling and the hood. It looks warm and fun.
There are better photos of it on the ravelry link. What do you think?
Looks perfect!
Thanks Michelle!
The Woodland Hoodlet looks really nice!! Go for it!
Thanks Jeanne- I think I will!!!
Are you planning to start it soon? I am anxious to see it!
I need to finish my current project first so it will be a while.
Cute!
Thanks! Hopefully it will be.
Love it!
Thanks!
The capelet looks so cozy. And seems like a good fit for the yarn, as the solid light color should show off big smooshy cables to maximum effect!
Thanks Denise! I was hoping to emphasize the cables. I have to finish my current project, a ginormous poncho. So I may not have this hoodlet this winter.
