On Monday, the first chick had hatched for our Turken hen.  It looks like it might be a partial Turken as well.

I decided to move the whole nest into the weasel-proof pen.  I set up some food and water for the hen and chick there.

This morning there is a second chick, looking a lot like the first one.  So far, so good.

On Monday, I was hopeful that Steve was doing better because he went out to the back forty with Tom to do some fencing work, and he looked like his normal self.

On Monday, Ryeleigh was eating dog food again and acting like her normal self.  Steve turned away from the food in apparent disgust.  So he wasn’t better.

And today, finally, Steve ate dog food from a bowl!!  I am so relieved.  I have been so worried about him.

In other farm news, I noticed today that Olivia is looking good.  She had become thin due to poor teeth.  The vet had worked on her teeth last fall, and we have been supplementing her feed.  And our effort appear to be working.

I noticed tadpoles at the far gate of our fields.

I added some extra water by hose, but most likely I will need to move them to a moister location before they dry out.  I do love our frogs.

In other news, we received our JP Patches Pal plate for Tom’s car today.  I am completely thrilled.

And more other news, the Kraken are kicking butt!  It is so dramatic watching their games.
