Piper’s 4th Birthday Party

Today we celebrated our granddaughter Piper’s 4th birthday with a party at Lang’s Horse and Pony Farm.  This is Piper with her mother getting ready to ride.

Here are her and her brother William getting on their horses and riding.

This is her first time on a horse, and she seemed to enjoy it.  She said she liked the taller horse best.  Next came the cake.

And then the presents.  It starts with some of the presents we got her.  There was a unicorn theme in our presents as well as others.

This is a doll that my friend Willow handmade for her.

Then there were some of the rest of the presents. A bath mermaid,

a Frozen movie comforter,

pink and yellow slime,

a glow in the dark pink sleeping bag,

a stuffed unicorn,

and finally a unicorn headband.

They both spent some time with one of the three grammas present.

And she ended as she started, with her mother.

It was a really nice party (except for some yellow jackets).

As an aside, we had a vintage plane flyover after we returned to the farm.  I grabbed my phone and got these images.

Here is the above photo cropped.

I then ran in the house to grab my camera and got these two photos before they flew away.  I wished I could have gotten video.

We think they were performing for the nearby speedway.  I would love to know what type of planes they are, if anyone can tell from my photos.

Wow! That was quite a birthday party! Piper is such a little cutie. She seemed to be enjoying it all! She got some very nice gifts. She looked so cute on the horse.

My late brother-in-law could probably identified those planes, but he passed away over 30 years ago. I’m sorry I can’t help. I don’t know much about planes, either new or old. I guess no one could figure it out for you.

      Not yet anyway

Ratzenphooies! My husband’s brother had a plane of one kind or another all of his adult life. He and Ron used to go flying. When we were living in Burley, ID, Bob and his wife flew to Burley, and took us up for a ride. The girls went first and Ron and I went after them. It was nice that he had a four passenger plane. I asked him if we could follow the Snake River to Twin Falls. It was something I’d always wanted to do. SO neat! Sadly, Bob passed away a few years later. Bob even built a plane from a kit! He flew it, too.

That sounds so fun. My grandfather had a plane we used to fly in when I was a kid. So much fun. Of course he would have known what those planes were.
