A few somewhat random photos related to what I have been up to lately. I shot a photo of our rabbits in their pen enjoying their morning hay.
These are three does that are visiting Yahoo for 3 weeks.
I have been using my minispinner when I find time. Here’s the Crown Mountain Baby Camel and Merino Top I spun and plied into this two plied yarn. It is wound into a skein and about to be washed.
Here’s the Crown Mountain Yak and Merino Top I spun and then decided to ply with some Crystal Palace Merino and Nylon dyed yarn I have in my stash.
Last but not least, these are the stormy clouds over our barn.
Tom had removed the fence netting after Shaun got caught in it. Today I put back up the fencing in the front pasture to keep the goats 35 feet from the front ditch and attached it to the fence charger. I can only hope that our horned goats do not get caught in it. I did this in high winds and a torrential downpour, while I am sick with a nasty cold.
The rams are now in the far back field with our three pack llamas. It makes me nervous having the rams in with other creatures. I have had a donkey kill a ram lamb, a ram take out a Highland cow’s knee, a horse lift a ram by the neck, and a ram kill my favorite goat. But I have had a llama in with rams before without problems so I thought I would try it again so hopefully the coyotes will not eat my ram lambs.
So I have complied with all that has been asked of me so far by the Washington State Department of Ecology. Hopefully I can now return to the ever increasing list of farm chores that need to be done.
You have been VERY busy. I pray the government folks will leave you alone now. Your yarn is GORGEOUS! I WANT a minispinner.

I have only been a little bit busy.
I hope they will leave us alone now, especially since we think the real pollution is coming from elsewhere.
The yarn is pretty but is far from perfect. I feel so lazy using electricity instead of my legs but I can get so much more done since my back doesn’t hurt. The minispinner is REALLY nice but certainly costs some. I am lucky to have such a generous husband!
I am looking at getting a similar electric spinner made by a vendor I met at BSG (see here: http://www.pacificsites.com/~hcfarm/index.html). He’s bringing some to sell and demo to this year’s BSG, and I’m saving my pennies. At $350, they are FAR more in my price range!
That sounds great! It is also nice to support local businesses. I would suggest you join http://www.ravelry.com/groups/electric-spinners They have great discussions about different spinners.
I did join awhile back. Just posted to see if anyone else has this spinner.
I tried to search their forum and couldn’t find it. but not sure I was doing it correctly either.
