This is Diddley watching me rake up the mud in front of the barn the other day.
Here is the peachick caught in the barn wall the other morning. It took some doing getting her out. I tried to dig a hoel for her to get out but she didn’t use it. I tried a hook and then had to resort to the net. 
We found out from the butcher that was supposed to be here in October that now he expects to be here in late January. I feel bad for the pigs as they hate winter weather. But I opened up their pen to include most of the donkey’s pasture. They are happier.
The fence separating them from the donkeys is not great but it is temporary. The pig is enjoying the donkey poop rather than the pig food however.
It looks like Diddley was enjoying watching you.
I’m glad you were able to rescue the peachick. She must have been a bit upset and probably didn’t like the rescue efforts you had to use!
It’s too bad the butcher took so long to get around to making his appointment with you for your pigs. I can’t help wondering what held him up. Late January is quite a ways away. Good thing the pigs are happier now.
I wish Diddley would have helped me. The peachick was quite upset. She seems OK now though. In October and November he said it was because he couldn’t find anyone to work for him. There was a large grant to local mobile butchers recently so I thought that might help. Now he just says it is the holidays. We will be looking for a new butcher, yet again. The pigs are happy for the moment. Hopefully they do not trash the donkey pen too badly in one month.
