Near death and new life
This is what last week’s title should have been. That’s because despite all odds my goat Dot is recovering! Sunday evening she decided to stand up, and she’s been fine ever since. We’re playing it safe and continuing the antibiotic shots another week, but she’s doing just wonderfully. This photo is Monday morning after I took her IV out and we led her to the barn. She was in a pen by herself until today I put her in with some mellow older sheep.Today we also had two ram lambs born to our ewe Monette. I was able to witness both births and video tape the first one. I’ll put it on youtube later this afternoon. You should be able to search for it there using “Monette and lambing”. The lambs are doing great as is their mother. Five more ewes to go!

Oh, I’m so glad Dot is still with you! How are her kids doing?

Sorry I’m slow posting comments- I’ve never had any before so didn’t realize there were any here!
Dot’s still doing well as are her kids. They obviously were weaned when she took sick and have moved to their new home together. Thankfully Dot’s illness isn’t contagious!
