What we’ve been up to

I feel like we are not getting much done.  I have been working a lot lately and do not have the energy.  But last weekend we did manage to almost finish pruning the orchard.  I pruned everything I could reach, but there are a couple of trees that could use some sawing from a ladder.  And we managed to put up another set of barn doors.  There are the old barn doors we bought on Craigslist recently.  We decided that they are old growth fir.  Here’s the inside view:

I have also been using my minispinner.  Here’s dyed silk roving and our own Black Shetland roving spun separately then plied together into this skein of yarn:

Gorgeous yarn! Is the mini spinner easier to use than a regular spinning wheel?

    • I find it much easier. Partly because my back is not screaming at me but also because it goes at a consistent speed and all I have to worry about is drafting the fiber.
