Recovery

So I am post-op and recovering.  I am sore and supposed to take it easy.  So I am on the recliner (even though it makes my feet numb) and discovering how bad daytime TV still is even with 700 channels.  The photo above is the view from the recliner with the snow coming down.  Tom is looking after me.  He just made blueberry scones which I am eating with coffee he brought for me.  He is also monitoring me, making sure I take it easy and not go out and brush the snow from the shelters and netting.  So it is a busy day for Tom looking after me, the critters and the snow loads while I hold down the recliner.

In other news, I started another box of mushrooms.  I looked into doing it myself with spore plugs and a drilled out log, but it seemed to complicated so I just bought another pre-made box of Portabellos.

So now I have to figure out what to do with this many fresh Portabellos mushrooms.  Any ideas?  I am googling mushroom burger recipes that maybe I can freeze.  Of course, I cannot do anything but research today but hopefully the mushrooms can hang on until tomorrow when maybe I can cook.

Yay for recovery! It’s best to lie low, inspite of wanting to get up and around (I pushed it after having both knees replaced, and payed for it).

I wish I could share your mushrooms – found out about a year ago that I had a sudden onset of anaflaxis after eating mushrooms that I’m allergic to them. I’m just glad it’s not a garlic allergy!

Take care – enjoy the beauty of relaxing with hot beverages, homemade scones and watching the snow.

    • I am trying. Of course, being in pain helps.

I am so sorry you are allergic to mushrooms, but you are right there are worse things to be allergic to.

I will take care- thank you!

I hope you aren’t in too much pain. Hang in there. It’s amazing how much stuff you CAN’T watch on TV with all those channels. I can only dream that my husband would make scones! You have a handy guy. Those mushrooms look yummy. A stuffed mushroom sounds good right now. Keep recovering!

Get well soon, you have goats to train!

    Glad you’re through that!

I hope they gave you some pain meds.

I’m not a mushroom fan, but those look pretty impressive. I found this recipe for mushrooms and onions sauted in butter then sour cream added on Southernfoods.com:

    • I am so glad it is over- now I get to worry about the biopsy results. They did not give me any pain medications so I am on Tylenol and Motrin.

Thanks for the recipe. I think I might even have the ingredients which is good since we have about 1 foot of snow now!

    Wishing you a speedy recovery!

In the meantime, enjoy the pampering! It won’t last long and it’ll probably be a LONG time before anybody waits on you and bakes you scones while you “hold down the recliner”!

    🙂

Hope you are feeling better soon. As hard as it is to sit and let Tom do the work, that will be for the best so you don’t mess things up again. Enjoy the beauty of the snow.
