So then I got to thinking about our household appliances that are reliable. Now they are electric, not internal combustion, but still we have a number of items that are constantly breaking down and needing fixing or replacing. That list includes coffee makers, coffee grinders (of which I have given up buying anymore), food processors, microwaves, dishwashers, stoves, refrigerators, computers, printers, televisions, and pellet stoves. But there are three that just keep going. Above is our mixer. Never given us a lick of trouble despite hard use.
Below is our bread machine. I did have to replace its loaf pan but after almost 20 years I thought that was forgivable. When I got to looking at the prices to replace it, I decided a loaf pan off Ebay was worth it.
And the big winner is the washer and dryer. I bought them in 1995 and they have not stopped since. On a farm we do a LOT of laundry. We go through multiple changes of clothes in a day getting all kinds of yucky stuff on our clothes and multiple loads of laundry a day, but they just keep cleaning and drying.
So here’s to the indoor machines (and the companies that make them) that keep running and help make our lives easier.
Kenmore heavy duty…that explains it. Kenmore means quality where I come from 🙂
Thanks Jody! Where I come from too!
Geez I sould like a commercial! LOL
We both sound like commercials, but some companies just make better products than others and that should be recognized and appreciated.
