The Deed is Done

cartFirst was that Tom finished the backup cart today.  Here it is with the paint still drying.  The before photo is here.

But the deed was that the bucks were castrated by the vet today.  Here they are recovering from their sedative.  A bad buck day, but they will have overall happier lives without testicles.

I had my big buck, Marley, castrated. He’s such a sweet boy! Hope they recover quickly.

I’m still waiting on Rick to castrate my gulmoget ram. He wants to band him, which seems like it would cause a longer period of suffering. 🙁

I think banding later is more painful. My vet does open castration with the emasculator and tying, using lidocaine and a sedative. I think it is the most humane way to go.
