Back in the Saddle

After 2 days of staying in the house with my swollen face, I decided this morning that it was time to go outside and face the wasps, so to speak.  My face is still somewhat puffy and my right eye feels wonky but otherwise I am OK.  So I bravely approached the llama stanchion, after Tom checked it for wasps first, and brought a llama into it.

While I was working on Walker, two wasps came by.  I was scared they would sting me, or maybe worse yet Walker.  Because then I would have a swollen plus angry llama to deal with.  But I managed to bat them both away and finished llama maintenance (trimmed wool, wormed, vaccinated, supplemented and toes clipped).  Walker did manage to break the stanchion away from the rotting plywood base, but all in all a successful operation.  Here is Walker getting a treat afterwards with his more comfortable fleece  and feet.

I also managed to clean out the last pen in the barn and get everything packed up and ready for Fiber Day at Bow Little Market tomorrow.  After I was done I sat on the back porch, drank water and watch the butterflies, sprinkler and garden.  Maybe summer isn’t so bad after all.
