For some reason, the young barn swallows let me get quite close to them yesterday. They were hanging out on an electric wire near the barn. Maybe they were recovering from the storm. I do not know, but it was a great opportunity to take some close up photos of them.

You Can’t Eat Mount Rainier
I’ve seen behavior like this in fledglings around our bird feeder. They can fly a little, but are still dependent on parental care. They hang around until their parents feed and/or guide them.
I have had a lot of fledglings, but this is the first time I have seen this. It was fun to see them so close.
