1967 31 Foot Boles Aero Trailer Trip

On January third, Tom saved this trailer from the scrapper and brought it home.

And today we brought it to my brother in Cle Elum.

We had an incident where the back window opened and was flopping around. And then it drew quite a crowd at Snoqualmie Summit during a bathroom break.

Of course, the exit were going to take was closed. http://kimatv.com/news/local/gallery/rolled-over-tanker-spills-7000-gallons-of-liquid-asphalt-near-cle-elum#photo-1

But we made it. Their cat Buddy was interested in the new arrival.

Tom and Greg got it into place. Here is its new home where it will be renovated.

Of course, we had to stop by Owens Meats to pick up some steaks for dinner before braving a thunderstorm and traffic to get home.

You have a couple vintage campers don’t you? The problem we have here, and why it took me so long to find one, is that in PA they are usually waterlogged messes from sitting in the weather for 50 years. That’s a really sweet looking one you found 🙂

Ours have been waterlogged messes too, especially this last one. The whole interior is going to need to be gutted and redone. But the aluminum exterior should just need some sealing. Plus it is strong enough to handle the snow loads.

I would love to see that trailer when it’s all renovated! It looks like it used to be a really nice one. How long IS that thing??
