It has been interesting getting the farm chores done between my ankle and Tom’s knee.  Initially after my fall Tom had to do all the chores.  During this time it rained like crazy, making life even more interesting.  The fields didn’t totally flood, but it was wet out. 

I did get some inside “chores” done including ordering our vegetable seeds for the year.  And they arrived very quickly as well.  

We have been using the quad to feed the hay to the cows to save our joints.  Two days ago I tried to do the chores but immediately twisted my ankle, so Tom ended up doing the chores  Yesterday I actually was able to do the chores.  I took the quad. Steve loves going out back when we feed the cows.  The pigs act like they would like to go as well.  

At the end of the chores however, I managed to twist my ankle in the mud again while using the cart to move the feed shed garbage.  

Today I tried again.  Here is Bug getting her hay.

As I mentioned, Steve loves it out back.  He tears around as fast as it can in complete joy.  It is so fun to watch.

Here are the pigs Porky and Petunia.  I have been calling her Penelope recently. I guess she seems more like a Penelope.  But we already have a Penelope goat, but we call her Peewee.  So need to remember that she is Petunia.

They love getting petted.  Here I am scratching their backs.  Initially it was just Porky that liked it, but now Petunia is more insistent about it.  

Meanwhile the sheep are just chilling.

It has not just been the pigs enjoying the leftovers of my cooking adventures.  The chickens get treats too.  This time it is bits of orange and apples.  

I managed to finish the chores today without hurting my ankle. Tom has his follow up appointment with the orthopedist on Wednesday so hopefully surgery will be schedule soon after. We need at least one farmer with two functional legs.
