Eagles and Damage

There was quite a bit of bird activity on the farm this morning.  But most impressive were the eagles.  Here are two of them.

Tom managed to repair the goat door for the umpteenth time.

Tom and his son yesterday finished getting the tree off of the trailer roof and covered it tightly with a tarp.  Now there is a lot of wood that needs to be cut into firewood and/or otherwise disposed of.  Plus there is one whole other large spruce in the orchard that needs dealing with.  And Tom’s surgery is now scheduled for February 1.  But it seems like everyone around us lost power with this storm, and our neighbors’ generator is still running.  So we got off relatively lucky from that windstorm.

sorry to hear about the trailer damage. we had a big chunk of tree come down but thankfully it didn’t hit anything. We out of power until early friday morning tho- and only got internet back about an hour ago. So glad to have a generator!

I am glad you tree chunk didn’t cause damage but sorry to hear about your outages. We never lost power nor internet but have lots of tree damage to deal with. Not sure which is preferable. Glad you have a generator and now have your services back. That was quite a storm!

Oh boy, are you blessed to have those eagles visit your farm! They are so awesome!! We occasionally see some here in our little town. They frequent the river which runs along the edge of town.

Thinking of power outages, there are a few times when I’d like to have a generator, since our power comes through the forest many miles, and it’s not unusual to have a tree fall on the lines and take the power out, sometimes for days.

The eagle kill our poultry though so it is a mixed blessing. We have a generator but we rarely need it. We lose power a lot less than the folks around us, which is nice for us. The neighbor’s generator finally quit yesterday. A friend down the road lost quite a bit of food from the prolonged outage.
