A Brief Late Summer Trip

We headed south in our 1976 Dodge camper van for a brief adventure.  We started at Mike’s Chili Parlor in Ballard.  It was closed when we did my Seattle Bucket list so thought it would make a great lunch.

And it did.  We both got the chili bowl, and Tom ordered fries.   It made for a great meal.

We headed over the Fremont Bridge,

And went to our camp site in Auburn.

We listened to out favorite DJ, Jim Ladd, on Sirius radio, telling us that he was being reduced from 5 days per week to one day per week.  It is very sad as this is how we spend many afternoons, listening to Jim and doing other chores.  It is the end of an era.

We had made our way to the White River Amphitheater.

Tom had purchased this cider, and we paid tribute to Olivia Newton-John.

Then we headed into the amphitheater,

and enjoyed Trejo’s tacos.  They were good.

Then we saw Los Lobos, one of our favorite bands.

And then we saw the Tedeschi-Trucks Band.  They were great- enjoy!

After the show, we headed back to our campsite and slept well.  This morning, I walked with my coffee to the White River which was nice. We then headed home to do the chores. It was a nice last trip of the summer.
