This morning I finally got a photo of Cassidy in the beagle’s kennel on the back porch. She likes to hang out in there but leaves whenever I try to get a picture. Ryeleigh doesn’t use it anymore so it is nice that she enjoys it.
I did the animal chores this morning while Tom made us breakfast with the bacon that his brother smoked for us. We learned that it is better to slice it while it is still partially frozen instead of completely thawed which is what Tom had to struggle with this morning. But the bacon was really good. It had nice flavor and a great smokiness. It was a little fatty, but Tom said it was a more fatty slab than others. By the way, my toast is from Carbonaut bread which I have come to love.
Ryeleigh is acting fine. She still won’t eat dog food but is eating human food fine. Steve will only nibble on small pieces of meat that are fed to him individually. He is laying around a lot still.
Because I missed out of knitting at the Boles, I decided I would take some time off of the farm chores and knit in front of the Mariners game. And it was a great game too.
I did do a bunch of gardening this afternoon and cleaned our hot tub. I fenced off the garden so the dogs can’t find manure out there anymore.
I did notice this tree in our front yard for the first time.
There are actually two of them. I am guessing they never bloomed like this before which is why I never paid attention. My plant identification app calls them sweet cherry trees. Funny after 20 years I would still be finding plants in the front yard.
Now I have made a Sea Monster Mai Tai in my Kraken mug in anticipation of a great Kraken’s game.
Go Kraken!!!!
I’m sorry Steve wasn’t doing much better. I hope that by tomorrow he’ll start to perk up. Its always so scary when our furry friends are sick.
It is scary. I hope he improves today otherwise he might have to go to the vet too.
wanted to let you know that we are really enjoying the bacon. amazing flavor! Keeping a good thought for the pups and hoping they feel better soon.
So glad that you are enjoying the bacon. Ryeleigh seems fine. Steve acts OK but won’t eat dog food. Looks like he’s losing weight. I hope he improves more quickly.
