Cows, Cold Weather, Brunch and Duffy.

I forgot to post last time about the cows and Arlo.  Sonja likes stretching herself on the post the Arlo camera is on.

And because of this we had been getting closeups of her face.

She managed to knock it sideways, and we got closeups of her horns.  I have since retrieved it.

It has been cold lately.  Here is my current cold weather barn outfit.

Friday morning I noticed that Bart had been beat up a little.

My guess is it was DWB that did it.  But not sure as I didn’t see it happen.

I have removed the entire garden fence at this point.  The garden looks naked to me.  Now we will have to put up a rabbit proof fence.

On Thursday (post-call) I binge watched the series Shetland on Britbox. It is a convoluted murders mystery filmed in Scotland, but a lot in Shetland.  So I really enjoy it.  It is only $8.99 for one month after a 7 day free trial.  So totally worth it.

I have been an adventurous cook recently but the last two days have been fails.  There was a failed venison roast on Friday and a failed Coq au vin yesterday.  This really got me down as well as the goldfish Calvstena dying and a spat with Tom about acceptable water to give the animals.

This morning I got up early to the chores.  It was a frosty but pretty morning once the sun came up.  The spat partially came from the fact that I hadn’t drained the hoses, and it had frozen the night before.  Yesterday I had spend a lot of time getting two hoses empty of water, and they still managed to freeze up.  So I spent quite a bit of time this morning getting the hoses thawed and hopefully empty again so they will work well tomorrow.  Winter is a lot harder.

But for brunch today we met up with our friends Erin and Lennart at Martini Brunch in Mount Vernon.  Lennart and I had Eggs Benedict.

Tom had pork schnitzel.

And Erin had a tangerine crepe.

Here she is with it.  She did not finish but enjoyed it.

Then, this afternoon, Tom and I were able to go to the Conway Muse to see one of our favorite performers, Duffy Bishop.

Tom thought he had the only Duffy Bishop T-shirt there but then met another.

Duffy signed his shirt,

and talked to him as well.

Then there were more great songs.  This was when Keith Lowe had to play lead guitar (bass) when Chris lost 2 guitar strings at once.

One of my favorite songs, Insane Asylum.

A John Lee Hooker cover.

Another favorite.

And an Elvis Costello cover that made me tear up on this particular evening.

Tom and I both had a great day today after a couple of rough ones.

love the cow cam 🙂 these cold days really are a pain, aren’t they? can’t wait until our cloudcover returns!

Agree. But I was mentioning our cold weather on the weaving zoom yesterday and a participant is dealing with -17 degrees. Doesn’t feel like I have much to complain about now.
