Early August Farming and Paul Simon!

First we have a turkey poult born on Saturday.  I know it looks dead in the photo, but I had just helped it out of its shell.  It is doing well.

I think the lone surviving chick from March needs to change names again.  It was Tyrone when I thought it was a rooster, then Tyra, but now I think it is Tyrone again.  What do you think?

The new Faverolle hens like to hang on the smaller spool, even in the daytime.

Fluffy’s chicks are growing up.  They are still in the hutch, for lack of space and the orneriness of their mother.  Soon they move to the weasel-proof pen.

The incubator has moved to the house so I can watch it more closely.  I still have 4 turkey eggs in it.  Not sure if more will hatch or not.  But Roscoe likes it.

Last evening we went to Benaroya Hall.  We got there early because traffic was decent and were able to enjoy the lobby.

There we met my brother and saw Paul Simon.  Our childhoods were all filled with his music.

My brother and I used to sing Cecilia loudly to the radio when driving around with my father.  We didn’t realize that we were singing at the time.  Here are some snippets from the concert.

It was absolutely wonderful!

oh wow. didn’t know that Paul Simon was in Seattle. that must have been great. I saw him a long long time ago (’92-ish?) in Baltimore. long time since we’ve been to Benaroya

That had to be a lot of fun! But it’s too far for us to go to. I’m glad you got to enjoy it!
