Steve 2014? – 2025

Steve died today. He was doing great until yesterday when he decreased his eating. But early this morning got up suddenly and peed/ pooped all over then couldn’t stand up. We took him to the emergency vet who felt he was having significant abdominal bleeding. So we had him euthanised. It was so hard to say goodbye. But we told him we loved him as it was happening. I hope he felt it.

Here he is in better days starting with the day we met him.

Oh noooo! I’m so sorry to hear this news, Donna. He was such a special guy. I remember when you first got him, and how he’d been returned once or twice to the shelter before you and Tom adopted him. That’s so hard on a dog, and I’m so glad he finally found his forever home with you and Tom. My deepest condolences.

Thanks Maureen! I had forgotten that he had been returned until I reread his adoption day post yesterday. It took a while but he finally came to trust us and became happy. It was a nice transformation.

From the pictures, he had a good life. Thank you to your family for giving that to him. They say dogs take a part of our heart every time we lose one. Hugs.
