I have been having trouble getting in the Christmas spirit this year. The presents are wrapped, and the tree is up. It did not work. So today I ignored my diet and baked cookies.
From right to left there’s Dishpan cookies from Tom’s mother’s recipe, Snickerdoodles from my mother’s recipe, Peanut Butter Special K cookies from my paternal grandmother, and Swedish Ginger cookies that my maternal grandmother might like. While I was making these cookies I was thinking about the women in my family making these cookies for the family over the years. It worked. I am more in the holiday spirit now.
What a lovely way to ‘get in the spirit’!
I haven’t put up my tree or any decorations either. Just too darned busy! Oh well, the SNOW is enough decoration for me…
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Christmas!
Thanks Nancy. Have a great Christmas too.
If sugar doesn’t do it for you then nothing will Donna 🙂
Happy Holidays!
Carbs=Christmas? I had not heard that before 😉
Merry Christmas Jody!
Good for you -following your heart (while listening to your head), is most often the way to go. And a cookie or two can only be a good thing. Happy Holidays, and Merry Cookies to you and yours!
Thanks Tamra. It might have been more than 1-2 cookies I sampled to make sure they tasted OK though 😉
Merry Cookies to you too!
It does seem like it’s been harder to get in the spirit this year. I just haven’t seemed to find time to do the baking. Guess I should quit blogging and start baking! Hope you have a great holiday.
It helped me. You can blog while stuff is in the oven. Have a great holiday Teresa!
