Sweet Lou

Our wether Lou died today.  He was 10 1/2 years old, out of Primolana Lucille (one of my first ewes) and our ram Graham.  His mother would not nurse him so he was a bottle lamb.  He was named after Lou Piniella, so that gives you a perspective on how old he was.  He was a nice sheep, not pushy.  He always had gorgeous musket fleeces that were a joy to spin.  In fact, his last fleece I dyed yellow and red and was spinning it Saturday at the Holiday Festival.  Still a joy to spin after all these years.  I will really miss this sweet sheep.

What a pretty boy and you were both blessed he graced your lives for these many years. It’s hard to see them go. I have a bunch of old timers in my flock and each one will leave a hole when they are gone.

Thanks Tammy! I was blessed, but it is hard. He was a gorgeous and friendly sheep who never caused me any trouble. We have quite a few old skinny sheep, and winter is hard on them. I am expecting that there will be more 🙁

So sorry about Lou. He sounds like a great sheep. I’m glad you have wool , and photos to remember him by.
Update on us: we are going to be renting a 100 year old house and barn on Chelan Butte. The house is being remodeled so can’t live in it yet, but have moved the 2 llamas, 3 sheep, 18 chickens into the barn/pasture. Right now we are staying in a friend’s basement till house is ready.

Thanks Jackie! I am glad you found a new home for you and yours. I will feel more comfortable having you closer to town. Amanda Madison is doing just fine here.
