Farm Eating and Drinking

Today was a farm consumption day. For lunch I made my favorite nettle soup like I do each spring when the nettles are at their peak for eating. The recipe is at one of my favorite blogs. I used our nettles, our eggs and our turkey stock. And I paired it with some of my homemade plum wine.

Then this afternoon after doing too much gardening I made a cocktail to accompany my bath for my back. I made Lavender Blues using our blueberries.

And for dinner I used our rib steaks, our beef broth and our chives to make Pan-Seared Steak with Red Wine Sauce. I enjoyed catching the cognac on fire. The sauce was great.

So a nice day of farm food and drink while I work on making more great farm food.
