Remember last post when I decided to remove the mean hen, thinking that the only damage I was doing was causing 2 lonely chicks. Well, the other hen killed them. And I f***ed up again. Tom told me when I got home from work this morning after a brutal shift. It was hard to take. I feel like a complete idiot. My only consolation is that I told Tom of my plans, and he did not think it was a deadly decision. But turns out it was. RIP, little chicks. I am so sorry I messed up so bad, and you had terrible deaths because of it.

Oh Donna, of all the mornings for this to happen…..Know that you made the best decision with the information you had. As we know, sometimes it’s not enough. I’m sorry for the chicks and I’m sorry for how you’re feeling. Hugs.
Right Liz?!? Thanks for the hugs.
Ugh. You made the best choice you could have at the time. No way to predict something like that. Sorry for the losses of those chicks. Probably keeping that hen would not be in the cards if it were me… she seems a little volatile towards babies.
Thanks, but now I know better. Both these two hens are nasty, but they make great moms. I just need to keep them separate when they have chicks.
Oh Donna, I’m so sorry, for the chicks and for you! Who would’ve known? I wish there was something I could do too make you feel better. Hang in there!
Thanks Jeanne!
So sorry that happened. 🙁 Times like these I remember that chickens are just tiny backyard dinosaurs.
Thanks!
