I am a fan of board games, particularly the ones like I used to play when I was a kid. So quite a few years ago I started collecting them from EBay. Here is less than half of my collection.

Fortunately my grandson likes board games. He always beats me at Monopoly. He likes Sorry! But they did not have it at home so I lent them mine.

When they opened it they found some money. They returned the game, and I decided to bring some games up to the “cabin”. Here they are in the bunkhouse.

But it was more than just money in this game. Here it is when you open it and remove the board.

I counted $122.50. So very slightly off from the amount written on the envelope. And it is all 1970’s vintage money.

Then there are the papers that were hidden in game. Here are what I perceive to be the front sides of the papers.

This is the first page from 1972. It is interesting in that it has states listed. None of the other pages have states.

They actually used three greeting cards for their scoring.

The players names appear to be Carly and Duke based on the names on the first page.

And here is the back of the last card. It looks like the last game they played was September 5, 1979.

So now I have lots of questions. Who were Carly and Duke? What game were they playing? It looks like you won when you got to 25 points, or I am guessing 50 if there’s a tie. There might be states or maybe battleships involved? And what is it with the grape + flower + veg on the envelope? Is that a clue? This is like no game of Sorry! I ever played when I was a kid. As I am typing this I am realizing I should check the other games we have to see if there are other surprises. I am going to show this to my father and brother this evening and maybe they will recognize the game. But if you know, please let me know!
