Monday Afternoon Drive

We decided we needed to get out.  So we took the hot rod out yesterday and drove around Skagit County.  We took photos featuring birds, daffodils, older buildings and trees, and mountains.  This was all to get our mind off of coronavirus and enjoy the beauty around us.

By the way, here is a painting in our living room.

Then we pulled into Burgermaster for dinner.  I do not think I have ever been there, having been a vegetarian most of my life.  I totally threw out my dietary goals and had a burger, fries and a chocolate milkshake.  Tom had the same with bacon on his burger, and we purchased a plain burger for Steve, for when we got home.  The meals was yummy and  a guilty pleasure.

The restaurants in the state all had closed that day.  We talked to our server and her roommate’s restaurant employer had shut down, and she was hoping to work at Burgermaster.  The realities of coronavirus were seeping back into our minds.

After dinner we went to see our friends Pam and Tommy.  My Tom gave Pam her late birthday present wallet he had made for her.  We sat around a while, with appropriate social distancing and caught up.

It was a nice afternoon and evening of a brief escape from the pandemic.  It was nice to get away even if it was just a short distance and period of time.
