The Birds and the Bees

This morning I noticed that the black chicks have some barred feathers on their wings.  So they may be barred rather than solid black like their mother.

And I saw the barn swallows for the first time today.  Here they are flying around.

I also set up a bee hive in anticipation of bees.  And Tom built this cool hive table for me.

Tom just checked them, and they seem to be settling in nicely.  I hope they like their new home.

    That’s really neat, to know that you are now a bee-keeper, and to find out that you’ve done it before! I had no idea you were even interested in them. I could tell from all those interesting pictures, that you are an experienced bee-keeper! Marlys loves honey, and eats a lot of it. I’ll be interested, if you want to do updates on the bee business! How long has it been since you had them before?

      It has been a few years since I had bees. I did it twice before and both times the hives died within 1 year so I stopped. But then my cousin Jay died and I decided in honor of him and to use his equipment again that I would try one more time. It is nice to see his name in the orchard again with bees swarming around. It would be nice to think that he is enjoying it.
