Back home, I continued to watch the Olympics. I did have a little bit more weaving to do and had to get the projects off of the loom.
Here is the front of my Winter Olympics weaving.
This is the Harris Tweed from my medical school interview jacket.
And the Harris Tweed from my Filson coat.
So I didn’t quite succeed in weaving a Harris-Tweed-like cloth. But I still like it. I took the warp off the loom with the projects from the Summer Olympics as well.
And now my loom is folded up and will likely not be used until the next Summer Olympics.
But I was able to continue to knit with the games.
But then I had to go to work. Live hockey with Sweden playing ROC was on when I left for work. I was imagining my relatives in Sweden watching it live as well.
I had a rough night at work so fell asleep on the couch the next afternoon with the games on. I woke up surrounded by animals.
The cat then kept me company as I watched the gold medal hockey game.
Today I made venison bratwurst sausages with Olympics highlights playing.
And this evening I watched the closing ceremonies.
It is sad to see the games end, but it is exhausting. It will be nice to go back to “regular” life.
Oh, my goodness, Donna! Did I ever enjoy this entry!! I love the Olympics too. Imagine the fun we could have, watching them together!! My favorite sport is the ice skating and ice dancing. Nathan Chen was fantastic!!
I love the weaving you did! And I’m impressed with the tweed of your old jacket, and the Filson coat you pictured. I must admit, that I’d forgotten your weaving from the Summer Olympics. Please remind me what you plan to use it for.
The picture of you napping on the couch with the furbabies is so precious! Did Tom sneak that shot while you were sound asleep? I’m sorry you had a rough night at work.
We plan to watch as much of the Paralympics as we can. They don’t always show very much of it, but those athletes are wonderful.
I am glad you enjoyed this post, Jeanne! We would have fun together, I think. I tend to like the more obscure sports as well. USA Network was my friend. The Summer Olympics weaving was a rug rug from Pendleton rug wastes that I made for our Boles trailer. I ended up making two rugs and a mat using up the Pendleton Mill Ends. And Tom didn’t sneak a shot. He came in just as I was opening my eyes and found the critters. I asked him to take the photo, and he had to turn the light on first. I hope to watch some of the Paralympics as well. Looking forward to hockey.
