Piper’s Third Birthday Party

Her party was this afternoon.  Our shopping trip in Mount Vernon was to buy her presents.  Here they are.

Unfortunately it was raining for a good portion of the party.  But between showers the swings were a big hit for young and not-as-young.

The bouncey house was also a hit.

Bell was adored by this kid for most of the party.  She was so patient.

The silly string was fun, and there was a bowl of small balls that felt weird on your hand.  Both made a mess in the grass.

William enjoyed talking to Tom from the top of the swings.

And this girl wanted me to video her spinning on the swing.

This girl discovered this balloon.

And decided that she needed to swing with it and Piper.

Here is a photo of me pushing them on the swing.

Then it was time for making homemade goo.

Then it was present opening time.

The gifts we bought ended up on the floor immediately,

except the book of stickers.

There was a cool sparkly backpack.

a pretty blue princess dress,

a wonderful flamingo ball,

and an incredible crocheted unicorn.

Everyone loved the dreadlocks.

I love the expression on her face, looking at her new small stuffed animals.

And she received a Barbie.

Then she was checking out her birthday cake.

And we sang to her, and she blew out her candle.

Then she licked the frosting on the cake.  It was the elephant’s trunk that she preferred.

Next was a raucous water balloon fight.

And more bouncing in the house.

And the aftermath.  There are a lot of spent water balloons in the grass.

We had a great time, and it was so much fun seeing kids have so much fun.  I think Piper had an amazing party celebrating her big day.

WOW!! That was quite a party! How long did it last? Piper got a lot of fun gifts.
The lawn was a bit of a mess, but the water balloons must have been a lot of fun. I don’t know much about Silly String. I wonder if it’s difficult to remove.

It was quite a party Jeanne! She is get a lot of fun, girly presents. The water balloons were fun but some of the boys threw them pretty hard and there were some errant throws that caused some crying. The long strings are easy to pick up but the small strings, the water balls it’s and those beads are going to be hard. I feel for them because they did a lot of work getting the party ready and now there is the clean up.
