Farm Prep and Kabob Party

After the anniversary trip there was a flurry of farm activities. The beagle seemed glad to have us home. I picked a bunch of raspberries and made our annual lemon raspberry cake.

A friend Elizabeth brought us 16 chicken poults as a gift. they seemed to integrate well with ours.

Then we had friends Anne and Jeff visit from Canada. We hadn’t seen them since before the pandemic. And she has had some serious health issues in that time. So we are thrilled to see them and doing so well! We showed them the new and old animals on the farm.

We had a shish kabob dinner with them and invited the kids and grandkids who hadn’t seen them in a long time either. Piper was in utero last time we saw them. Anne brought some yummy stuffed peppers and chocolate banana cake. I think a good time was had by all except Piper slept the whole time.

This morning I had to corral the cows as I had noticed wounds on Sonja’s butt. I managed to get fly repellent and insecticide on them to hopefully prevent fly strike. It seems like it is always something on the farm.

I’m sorry to be slow in making my comment!
It’s so good to know that you had such a good time with your visitors from Canada. What part of Canada are they from?
Are the new chicken poults the black ones? That was a nice gift!
Before I forget – did Marji ever give birth to her calf??

You are fine Jeanne. Our friends are from the Vancouver area. They are black as well as black with golden necks and greyish. It was a very nice gift! Marji has not had her calf yet so we are starting to wonder.

That really is a puzzle, about Marji.
I meant to tell you that your lemon raspberry cake looks yummy!
        Thanks for your reply.
