Autumn Birds

This morning, doing the chores, it looked really autumny up the prairie.

Then some geese started flying over, adding to the scene.

I noticed that the white peacock has some darker feathers coming in.  So he will not be completely white after all.

The mother of the four young peafowl is watching out after them. Here are three of them while the white one is eating nearby.

I also noticed that one of the young peahens is getting more colorful.

The other peacock is not very colorful yet

This is the turken hen who was missing feathers, and Denise kindly donated a saddle for her.  She wore it for a while and then kicked it off somehow.  Nonetheless her feathers still seem to be growing back.  Hopefully this will continue before the really cold temperatures hit.

That is the bird news from Schoonover Farm.

Very interesting! I’m sorry the white peacock isn’t going to be pure white. I think he’ll still be very striking!

I’m glad your young turken is growing more feathers. I take it that you weren’t able to find her saddle?

    Take care of yourself!

I wanted him to be all white but I still think he is going to be interesting. I did find her saddle eventually. It is pretty nasty though so I need to wash it.
