Farm Day

Last night we had home movie night and finally watched The Hanging Tree.  The outdoor scenes of this movie were filmed at Rattlesmnake Creek, near my mother’s family cabin.  If you know the area, you can definitely see the familiar terrain.  And it looks nothing like Montana which is where the movie is supposed to be based.  My grandfather shot a home movie of the movie set in May 1958.

We both have the Marty Robbins theme song rattling through our heads today.  I am thinking that I will donate this DVD to the cabin in case others want to watch it too.

I have been fascinated by the GBH that seems to have adopted our farm.  He was on the ridge of our barn again this morning.

It was an open farm today where I invited my coworkers to check out our animals.  Unfortunately the weather was awful.  I was surprised if anyone showed, but the family of Krista and Marcee came and appeared to enjoy themselves despite the rain and wind.

This afternoon I am making North African Venison Stew for dinner.  It seems like the perfect dish for this wet cool day.

The video you put right near the top of this post is fascinating. It’s a bit blurry, but very interesting. I’ll watch again a few more times.

It’s a shame the weather wasn’t better, for your open farm day. At least you had a response from someone. Do you have any idea how many of your co-workers were free to take you up on your offer?

    Did you work yesterday?

The video was blurry. It didn’t have the time to do video editing so I just used my phone and recorded that section playing. Not ideal. I should go back and do it correctly. I am not sure how many were free. I am working today.
