was yesterday. We started at their home for food, presents and then cake. First he got a Metcalf jersey. He looks pretty thrilled.
I made him a photo album of his second 5 years.
It starts with photos of his 5th birthday party.
Tom got him his own tool box with metric tools. Tom’s aunt Connie had got him his first tool box when he was around age 10 too. He still has some of those tools.
Sergeant Pips and Bell seemed to be copying each other in sleep.
And Pips enjoyed the wrapping paper.
William, Thomas and Steven looking at the photo book.
Then the cake came out.
Mo got her piece of cake in a giant bowl.
Thomas and Pips were cuddling.
The stunt drone Thomas got for William was a big hit, until it got trapped in the haunted hallway’s cobwebs.
Piper enjoyed showing off her snake.
Then we headed to the Aim and Game near Ferndale. This was great fun. Tom and I enjoyed pinball and later a Simpsons fighting arcade game.
The kids and Russ played nerf wars.
Piper and Thomas were in the photo booth.
I had a mutant ninja turtles inspired cocktail.
Adults and kids (over 10) practiced ax throwing. Russ was really quite good at it.
And Tom was too.
A good time was had by all.
P.S. As far as the farm goes, we are getting a lot of eggs. There were 31 yesterday. This might be a record. We have to start using a larger basket moving forward.
I can’t keep eating all of the golden raspberries and haven’t found a good way to save them for later. So I picked them for the chickens yesterday. They loved them.
The starlings are back in force. I am hoping the fact that we are locking up the barn quite securely at night now will discourage them for hanging out in there this winter.
The snow geese are coming back too. Tom took these two videos to them yesterday during morning chores. They are enchanting to watch in flight.
