We got the grandkids on Sunday afternoon. This is because their school was cancelled on Monday for teacher work day. We took them to Bigfoot’s Den in Sedro-Woolley. They had games upstairs which the grandkids thoroughly enjoyed. Tom and William played pool.
Piper and I played on a smaller billiards table.
We then had dinner. Three of us had pizza while William had chicken tenders (he says he doesn’t like pizza).
Then there was air hockey
ice cream,
and basketball.
They really enjoyed it. William wants to come back every time he stays with us.
Monday morning started with cartoons on TV.
Piper and I completed a jigsaw puzzle while Tom and William got Tom’s 650cc motorcycle ready to sell.
Just before lunch a family came from Sumner and bought the bike. It is somewhat bittersweet as this was Tom’s bike for many memorable trips including the Baja Peninsula. But he doesn’t ride it anymore as he favors a smaller bike. The new owner is quite excited about it as it is his first bike.
Then we had lunch. Tom made his famous grilled cheese sandwiches. William claims they are the best in the world.
After lunch we went to the pet store to get a new gold fish as Piper’s fish “Gold Medal” had died earlier of swim bladder issues. She picked out a new smaller fish and named it Rose.
The nasty, windy, rainy weather finally subsided, and William was fairly able to ride a motorcycle around until he got too cold.
After a dinner of mac & cheese with hot dogs, their father picked them up, and they went home. The house got suddenly quiet. We watched Monday Night Football, and I was able to knit.
Today we will be watching the election results, and I am hoping for a fair election leading to a peaceful transition of power.

I read the rest , but was stuck at someone not liking pizza. I am blown away!
It’s crazy, I know. This is why we hadn’t visited here in the past as I thought they only served pizza. Mysteriously though he had some of his sister’s cheese pizza and liked it. Plus I have a photo of him eating pizza at a motorcycle show.
It does seem odd that William doesn’t like pizza! Maybe he’ll change his mind after a while. It looks like you all had a great time on your weekend together! It’s great that you and the kids live so close, and can easily spend time together.
I enjoyed all the pictures!
It is odd. We did have a great couple of days but again exhausting. I wish we lived a little closer but it is nice to spend any time that we can.
